The total refurbishing of the CFTO News set included a 2 storey set designed with over 10 host positions. An existing Strand Lighting dimmer and control system was used to power the new fixture acquisitions including ETC Source 4 Ellipsoidal, Strand Bambino Fresnel (300w-2Kw), MR16 and Par 20 Luminaries.

The CTV Sportsnet Channel launched in late 1998, called for a working Newsroom/Studio for the host broadcast areas and reporter locations, as well as a multi purpose studio facility to house the numerous sets required for Sportsnet productions, including, Figure Skating, Auto Racing, NBA Basketball, etc. The Newsroom Lighting system consists of 96 ETC Sensor dimmers controlled by an ETC Express 48/96 dimmer board. Fixture include, ETC Source 4 Ellipsoidal's, Strand Fresnel's (300w-2Kw), Videssence V-Beam Series, PAr 38 and Par 20. The Fixed grip was designed to follow the curved contour of the Newsroom. The Studio lighting utilizes Rosco/ET IPS Dimmers run through a Horizon Control system. The Grid consists of 12 Desisti Self Climbing Hoists.
